Action Movie

An action movie is just what it sounds like. It is a type of movie with a range of different sequences of action. This could be anything from a gunfight to a fistfight and much more. This is a type of film genre. Many times, the movie has a composition of several sequences where fights, arguments, stunts and even a car chase or two will be included. In most cases, the movie has a focus on the "good guy, bad guy" theme, in which the villain is being chased or is fighting with the hero.

There are many examples of great professionals that work in the genre. You will find some of the best action movie stunts are complete by a handful of professionals too, as many actors do not do their own fight scenes but use a stunt double. Some of the most recognizable names in the action genre include Sylvester Stallone, John Woo and Jackie Chan.

Movie types are just as unique. You will find that there are war films, but most of the movies will center on an individual plot or an individual hero. The individual is generally fighting both an internal and external battle, which somehow concludes at the end of the movie.

Perhaps the first action movie styles of movies were those shot in the Wild West, during the 1920's and into the 1930's. There is no doubt that the 1960 films, which include James Bond movies, carry the thought as some of the best action movies. Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and many other actors have brought this type of film into the latest generation as well.

The suspense and thrill of these movies is what keeps any people coming back. Most of the time, an action movie focuses on the action, rather than the intellectual or emotional side of the problem.
